H-08530 Cucumber Gose 21L
Csaba Szabácsik took second place at the 2026 International Homebrewers Competition with this recipe.
Thank you, Csaba, for sharing the recipe.
This is a very old style of beer, with records of it dating back to the early 1100s. However, it wasn’t widely known outside the town of Goslar until the 1700s. What makes this beer unique is that the water in Goslar has a very high sodium content. Thanks to this salt content, the beer becomes light, well-rounded, and goes down very smoothly. Every brewer should brew a Gose at least once in their life.
Cucumber is a popular ingredient in drinks like gin and tonic, and now in beer as well; it’s refreshing and complements citrus flavors well.
